6/13 Forecast

If you’re looking for something to do this morning while the wind is light, take a ride around the Central Gorge Master Gardners secret garden tour! You can pick up a map and ticket at the Columbia Art Gallery in Hood River this morning. There are some very cool gardens on this tour, and it’s well worth your time!

If you’d rather be on the water today, you’ll get your chance. Unforttunately, that unfriendly upper level low is still crashed out along the Oregon coast, keeping our wind lighter and gustier than it should be this time of year. We’ll see 16-20 from Viento to Mosier today, with steadiest winds along the shores of Well’s Island. Models suggest we’ll see a late day push into the low twenties, but I think developing thunderstorms will keep stronger winds at bay.

It’s looking light high pressure will build form the south tomorrow, setting up stronger gradients. The upper low still runs some interference, so I expect some gustiness. Having said that, we’ll startn out tomorrow with 23-26 from Hood River to Doug’s. Winds will likely build into the 28-32 range by mid-morning, with strongest wind focused just east of the nmorning cloudline, likely giving us a blasting corridor day.

That upper low exits the region Monday, giving us another mid-twenties day in the Corridor.

Boaters, the Hood’s at 4.1 feet, the White Salmon’s at 3.5 feet, the Little White’s at 520, and the Wind River’s at 400 cfs.
