Morning everyone! Don't forget that World Have Your Say is being recorded/broadcast from Mama Jane's Pancake House in The Dalles this morning at 10am. Join me and all my friends for breakfast before!
It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s sailboat racing day in Hood River. If you have some experience, show up at the Hood River Marina around 5:30 to talk your way onto a big boat. There’s also a women’s road bike ride today. Meet at Mountain View Cycles at 5pm for a cruise with a cool group of women.
It’s also a windy morning in the Gorge, but the overall weather picture is problematic. We have marine clouds in p-town, but low pressure overhead. This is a good setup for gradients, but also a good setup for thunderstorms. That makes the wind hard to predict today and tomorrow.
Having said that, we started off with a .09 gradient this morning, a solid marine deck, and winds in the teens. Thermal assistance later today helps windspeeds build. We’ll have 15-19 in the Corridor this morning, followed by a midday lull, followed by 22-26 from Doug’s to Maryhill this afternoon… if the thunderstorms don’t shut everything down.
Tomorrow looks stronger. Weak coastal high pressure joins a low pressure trough over the Norhtwest, to give us 23-27 all day long from Hood River to Arlington. Once again, afternoon thunderstorms may mess up the wind.
Also coming up tomorrow is the Hood River Tri. That’s 5:45 at the Event Site tomorrow.
Boaters, the Hood’s at 4.3 feet, the White Salmon’s at 3.5 feet, the Little White’s at 520 cfs and the Wind’s at 410 cfs.
Whatever you do today, have an awesome day!
