6/2 Florida Forecast

Good morning everyone!

Windsurfers and kiters, we’ll see light east winds today, as high pressure settles in over the Rockies and low pressure rotates off the Oregon coast. This weather setup holds through Friday, at least.Yuck.

Whitewater boating is my pick today. If you don’t have a boat, ride to Lost Lake. According to the resort website, the road is plowed and lined with snowbanks. All the remaining snow will keep things cool, right? And if you’re hot when you get up there, you can jump into icy-cold Lost Lake or roll in a snowbank. If you’re thinking of riding there today, be aware that the back road is still covered in snow and blowdown, so you’re going up the main way!

Gals, if it’s still hot and sticky out at 5:30, head to the event site in Hood River for free stand-up paddle demos. Big Winds is hosting the BW Girls’ Supper club. There’s no food involved, but I bet if you show up with a potluck dish, nobody will be upset!

Coming up Saturday, Imperial Rafting Company in Maupin is running free 45 minutes whitewater trips down the Deschutes for their opening day party. They’ll also have chainsaw ice-sculpting, so mark your calendar for free whitewater rafting Saturday. Don’t forget. !

Boaters, you’re doing the right sport today. The Hood’s at 5.1 feet, the White Salmon’s at 5.4 feet, the Little White’s at 750 cfs, and the Wind’s at 670 cfs.

Whatever you do today, have a fabulous day!
