It’s another light wind start today, but by afternoon, we’ll have enough wind for slalom sailing and kiteboarding. Models suggest more wind than that, but I’m not really expecting a big day today. We’ll see 17-21 by early afternoon from Stevenson to The Dalles, and I think we’ll see 22-25 later on.

High pressure pulls back from the coast tomorrow, weakening gradients just a bit. I think we’ll see 17-21 tomorrow morning to start the weekend. Get out early. The midday lull takes over as Portland heats up. By evening, winds bump back into the 17-21 range.

Sunday looks a little stronger than Saturday, with more marine layer. Call it a 17-21 start, building to 22-26 later in the day.

Mountain bikers, thanks to all who emailed me about the trails. Knebal is open. 8-mile has a dozen blowdowns and a 100 yard section of snow. The upper part of surveyors is snowy, but the lower part is clear of snow. Post Canyon is getting dusty, so get out and ride it or start praying for rain.

If you want another trail near Hood River, help with the Whoopdee trail rebuild tomorrow. Meet at the China Gorge park-and-ride at 8:30. Bring tools, food and water. Help rebuild the trail, and you’ll have another place to play in spring!

Boaters, the Hood’s at 5.1 feet, the White Salmon’s at 4.7 feet, the Little White’s at 750 cfs and the Wind River’s at 700 cfs.

Whatever you do today, have an awesome time!
