This is Temira and this is your Sunday motivational rec report. And you need some motivation. Windsurfers and kiters, where were you yesterday? Ripping wind, only a few people out. C’mon… it’s time to start your summer sports!
How about mountain biking? How about a race? Today is the Bear Springs Trap cross country race. Visit the OBRA website for information. Not a racer? Think Syncline, with blooming flowers, or Post Canyon, with excellent dirt.
Road bikers, there’s less wind today. If you’re up for a group ride, you can join the Cherry of a Ride tour through the orchards. Otherwise, you can ride yourself through the orchards. Everything’s blooming in Mosier and The Dalles, making today a beautiful day to ride the Mosier - Rowena Crest – Seven Mile – State Road loop. That’s about 2700 feet of elevation gain in 29 miles. The winner of the Mt. Hood Cycling classic averaged 1:15 per lap over 3 laps. How do you compare?
Speaking of wind… windsurfers and kiteboarders…. It’s a light start this morning as low pressure rotates around BC. With high pressure at the coast and in the desert, we’ll see 15-18 from Swell to Rowena this morning, fading as the day goes on. We may see a later afternoon 20sih sesh, but it’s unlikely. I vote for skiing this afternoon!
Tomorrow looks calm until late afternoon, when gradients turn westerly again.
Have a great day today!
