I'm stressed. No, really. Wednesday is presenting a huge problem for me. Skibowl isn't open Monday and Tuesday, so the next 48 hours of powder will be lying there untouched waiting for me Wednesday morning. BUT, high pressure parks off the coast Wednesday morning. Combine that with low pressure over the Rockies and we'll have a nuclear windsurfing day, complete with dawn patrol. AND, I'm supposed to go for a bike ride with a friend that day.
Please help me decide! I'm losing sleep! Do I windsurf? Ski? Mountain bike?
But back to the present... It's wet out there right now. If you're up in the hills, however, it's white out there. Snow level plummeted overnight, allowing precious powder to fall upon Mt. Hood Meadows. There was only 3 inches on the 4am telemetry, but NOAA's calling for 5-9 inches today. Let's go with that, because it makes me happy to think about it. It did get pretty cold overnight, so I'm not sure what you'll find off-piste. Maybe you should check it out? =)
This afternoon, when the cold front passes, desert winds will kick into the 27-31 (but gusty) range.
Tomorrow looks good on the mountain. Cold. Powder. Wind tomorrow afternoon will be in the 17-20 range in the afternoon.
Wednesday is opening day of corridor windsurfing season. Strong high pressure builds off the coast. We may see 18-22 dawn patrol, but the strongest winds will be in the afternoon, probably at Doug's. 30-35+ would not surprise me.
So, back to my dilemma. My best suggestion is to ride at Skibowl Wednesday morning (just to go someplace different) and then head to Doug's in the afternoon. What the heck am I going to do about the I-can't-cancel bike ride with my friend?
Have a great day today!
