2/27

Did all you skiers and riders and freeheelers have fun on Mt. Hood yesterday? What a day!!!

There's no new snow up there today, but the snow is still really good. It was quite cold overnight, and that usually sucks some of the moisture out of the snowpack, making it lighter and fluffier. Also, Cascade/Vista/Upper Heather haven't opened yet during this storm, so there are happy surprises to be found up there. It's worth mentioning that it was super windy yesterday, so Upper Heather may or may not be good. It might be 4 feet of powder, and it might just be windblown.

We like surprises, right?

Anyway, I suggest you get your ski or snowboard on today, especially if you like powder. The forecast just doesn't look favorable over the next couple of days. Things could change, but for now, Sunday looks like the next round of snow. Saturday night may see (cross your fingers that the forecast is wrong... I haven't had a chance to study it hard yet) a few sprinkles on the mountain. It doesn't look like a deluge, fortunately, so we might be okay...

Today looks just plain beautiful on the mountain. Clear skies. 31 degree forecast high. No wind. If you can go snowboarding or skiing, go. Seriously. You are way too sick to work today.

Have a fantastic day!
