Debateable Thursday Forecast

Hi Everyone,

Tonight is the VP debate. Join me and my friends at Doppio at 6pm to watch the (hopeful) carnage.

(yes, it's another cut-and-paste forecast)

Today’s activity recommendation is to go for a mountain bike ride. Liquid sunshine, falling from the sky in the form of rain droplets, will turn dusty riders into muddy riders. This system only has a half-inch of associated rain, but tomorrow’s has up to an inch. I’m voting for mountain biking both days.

Windsurfing and kiteboarders might have the desperation west wind session today after the front passes this afternoon. If thunderstorms keep at bay and rain stops at The Dalles, Arlington and Avery will see gusty, shortlived 25-30 mph winds with a chance of monster gusts. That’s if and only if, so please don’t get mad at me if it doesn’t happen. It appears there are already showers or t-storms out east, so I am not holding my breath. Instead, I am now going to ride my bike to Mosier.

Tomorrow looks like a strong southerly session at the coast. Speedsailors unite!

In other activities… Friday is First Friday in Hood River. Bring your umbrella and galoshes and wander downtown Hood River perusing art and chatting with artists. Saturday is the Eco-Home Tour., where rain-embracing, eco-friendly bicycle tourist tour free. Saturday night is the family-friendly Hops Fest, also in Hood River.

And finally… you know that Squrl guy? He does the Blues show on the classic rock station? It’s his birthday Saturday and he’s throwing a big party with an awesome band in Hood River at the Pines.

Have a good day!
