Monday Coffee Ride Forecast

Hi Everyone,

(radio cut and paste. sorry. must go ride bike.)

I’m afraid… I think the weather is turning… I think… well… I think the mountain biking is about to get really, really good on trails that have been dusty all summer! And I think the paddling is going to get better for those of you who like higher water.

First, the report from the mountain bike world. Dirty Fingers Bicycle Repair took a crew of 19 along the Boundary Trail last Sunday. This is a little used (well, by mountain bikers, anyway) 19 mile singletrack through remote wilderness near Mt. St Helens. Mitchell reports that this ride is now in his top ten of all time. Check in with the shop for round two, or just listen in here. I’m hoping for Ape Canyon/Plains of Abraham next weekend. If you're up for it (assuming the weather is amenable), email me.

Windsurfers and kiters turned out in force for yesterday’s easterly blasting. I thought they’d say, “thanks but no thanks,” but they embraced mother nature’s bailout package for desperate wind junkies.

It’s good they took advantage of yesterday’s winds, because today only looks like 20-25 mile per hour east winds, at best, in the early morning. Tomorrow brings light west winds late in the afternoon. Thursday brings 20-25 way out east. The mayors of Arlington and Roosevelt await you!

...

See, here's the deal: in order to force myself to exercise, I have to ride my bike to Mosier to get my coffee. Therefore, I must go now.

Have a good day!

Temira
