Satuday forecast

Hi Everyone!

(sorry for the cut-and-paste radio forecast, but I want to go back to sleep before I really wake up!)

Windsurfers and kiteboarders had a fine day yesterday, but Mother Nature doesn’t want to play windsport supporter today. A .05 gradient started the day, but the very best we’ll see on the water is a low teen morning. By Afternoon, winds begin to fade as high pressure slides eastward.

Sunday brings everyone’s favorite: easterlies. Sailable east winds. That’s 22-26 in the morning from Rooster Rock to Home Valley. If you’re looking for something fun and different do the Home Valley to Stevenson downwinder. Start early, because the last thing you and Burlington northern want is for you to be dragging your sorry self over the train tracks when the wind dies.

WAvesailors… head to the coast. Florence is probably your best bet, today but it’s going to be windy and wavy everywhere, especially tomorrow, when the waves grow into logo-high happy size.

Road Bikers. If you’re catching this forecast early, head to Discover bikes for the Saturday road rides. 8am if you’re looking to push yourself and 830 if you’re looking for a fun, semi-casual (no, not your clothing… that’s riding speed) ride around the Gorge.

Triathletes, the Escape from the Gorge tri race is Sunday in Cascade Locks. Reports from last year give a thumbs up, so head down to race or cheer on the racers.

Paddlers: the White Salmon’s at 1.58 feet. The Little White’s at 211 cfs and the Klickitat’s at 3.96 feet.

Have an awesome day, everyone!

T

p.s. Vote Arthur Babitz for mayor!
