Windy SAturday makes me happy

Hi everyone!

It’s going to be a windy Gorge weekend and damn does it feel good to say that!

Today is windy. It feels so good to say that! 5am gradients were at .14, and that’s a big start. Models suggest 26-30 in the morning from the corridor to Doug’s. A midday lull creates consternation, but Mother Nature sends cold air to Portland this afternoon for a rebound. 26-30 again later from Doug’s to Maryhill, maybe Arlington.

This evening is the CGWA beachfest potluck at the Event Site from 5-7. Cook up your favorite family recipe to share with the rest of the hungry windsurfers.

Tomorrow looks windy and chilly as a supercooled (for summer anyway) mass of air slides across the Gorge. High pressure builds at the coast as the cold trough slides east, driving up Gorge gradients. We’re looking at 22-25 Dawn Patrol tomorrow, followed by 26-30, maybe a bit better, from the Corridor to Maryhill.

Before you take the river by storm tomorrow, wander through the aisles of the last CGWA swap meet of the season.Expo center parking lot is the location. Head across the street afterwards for the Northwave customer appreciation BBQ. Try some sails while you're there to justify eating the free food!

Monday looks windy as well. Upper Level Low in the Great Basin. High pressure offshore. That’s a good setup for the Gorge.

Oh happy happy happy happy happy windy weekend!!!

Have a great day!
