It's more fun saying it will be windy!

Hello sailors!

I jumped in the shower this morning without feeding my friend Tomi's cats. I kept hearing a cat bell tinkling outside the shower curtain, so I took a peek. The unhappy larger cat of the household was sitting on the bathroom counter staring at the shower curtain. I imagine he was willing me to come out and feed him. After all, a cat's breakfast is far more important than a girl's shower.

Random prop here: check out Windonthewater.com, the free wind sensor network. It's the coolest site ever for windsurfers and kiteboarders. You can even access it on your cell at cell.windonthewater.com.

Anyway. Gradient's are at .09 to start the day, and that's not a bad start at all. Only problem is that there are strong thunderstorms moving north into the eastern Gorge, and that will make things unpredictable for a few hours. Winds hold in the 15ish range for much of the day, finally picking up to 18-22 late as a front approaches the coast. Southerly flow remains until the front passes, giving us a chance of t-storms (and hence screwed up wind) all day.

Mother Nature's irritation with the Gorge (she punishes us by shutting of the wind, you know) subsides tomorrow with the frontal passage. Winds climb, sculpting Gorge trees into their characteristic windblown shapes. It's not clear yet where the cloud line will end up, but I wouldn't be surprised if it pushed passed HR. Anyway, 21-24 dawn patrol. 22-26 through the day. 28-32 mid-afternoon from Mosier eastward. Upper flow will be westerly, giving peach eaters a good excuse to drive to Maryhill.

At this point, Saturday looks a bit lighter, maybe 23-27.

Sunday will be windy as well.

I'm going to Portland today. I ran out of Okinawan sweet potatoes (those delicious purple sweet potatoes), necessitating a drive to Beaverton. I'm not sure how I justify that, but ... oh... I'll have lunch with a friend too. And maybe get a few clothes... and books... yes... I need books.

Oh happy happy windy forecast. I get so tired of telling you guys that it won't be windy... This is way more fun!

Have a great day!

Temira
