Sunday Cloudy Sunday

Hi Sailors,

I spontaneously awoke 5 minutes ago. Rather than turning over in bed and returning to sleep, I decided to check the rec report. Whew. It's 24 at Doug's with a solid cloud line to Doug's. Sneaker clouds are at Maryhill. Gradients are downright pitiful, but that will change as the desert heats up. and a front crosses Oregon.

I'm still calling 24-28 at Maryhill and Arlington later. Maybe we'll get lucky with 30+. MM5 still suggests 28-32 late in the day, but it's suggesting Doug's.

Anyway, I'm not too coherent this time of day. it's much better when I do the forecast while drinking coffee, not while thinking of returning to sleep.

Congratulations, by the way, to Dale Cook. He won the Blowout (that crazy race from Stevenson to Hood River) yesterday for the millionth time in a row.

Tomorrow looks like a minimal wind day.  A winter-like low pressure system sits off Vancouver island. We're going to see strong south winds on the coast for the next couple of days. Seattle may get a rare summer southerly. Low pressure off the coast. High pressure over Oregon. Bad combo for Gorge winds.

Since you won't be sailing, I recommend going skiing. I was at Timberline yesterday and had a fantastic time. Sunny skies. Good corn snow. But man oh man am I sore already. I thought doing the stairs once a week would keep me in shape for skiing, but that is not the case. I'm going to have to do 1/2 hour of lunges once a week instead. An added bonus of that will be that I'll have the best knackarshe in the Mid-Columbia.

Have a nice day!

Temira
