Hello everyone!
(you get cut-and-paste radio report today)
Hello happy gorge sports people! Welcome to another sunny, beautiful day in the Gorge. Keep your fingers crossed for the firefighters in the Gifford Pinchot… for once, let’s hope for high humidity and light winds in the Gorge.
Winds… My what a confusing picture we have today. I’m going to waffle. Dropping temperatures in Portland, 95 in The Dalles. That’s good. High pressure to the east. That’s bad. I’m letting the desert high trump thermal gradients and calling 10-15 in the morning until the high pressure moves further east. With a 10 degree differential predicted between Hood River and The Dalles, we might see Mosier to Doug’s reach 21-24 this afternoon.Maybe. If not, go eat waffles at Anne and Diedrick's house. They make the most delicious waffles ever, and now that fresh cherries are available...
Tomorrow is an easier call, with morning marine clouds. High pressure settles off the coast and a heat low lurks in the desert. Check for dawn patrol. Too early? Midday brings 22-25 in the corridor, or wait for 24-28 at Doug’s and possibly Maryhill later. Windy fun continues Wednesday.Probably windier fun, but you know how these long-term forecasts are.
Mountain bikers. Unconfirmed reports have Falls Creek open with patches of snow at higher elevations. Maintenance is in progress, so please control your speed and don’t blast around blind corners.
<end of lame cut-and-paste forecast>
If you're in Hood River, check out the bright orange athlete's cage... I mean village... down by the event site. Looks like a great hangout spot to me... dusty, hot...
Have a great day!
