Good morning sailors!
It's not a bad start to the day: sunny skies and a .04 west gradient. I'm trying to motivate to do something aerobic before the evening windsurfing session, but, just having crawled out of bed, I'm undermotivated. (Gmail tells me that isn't a word)
All I want to do right now is drink my delicious cup of french press, prepared by Tomi Owens of Hood River's fantastic magazine Rediviva, and write this forecast.
(I think I have writers' block this morning)
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I'll just paste something from the rec report to get me started...
So, it isn't going to get windy until around 2 o'clock or so. In the meantime, get together with some friends and have a pancake breakfast. It's finally cherry season, and blueberries are ripening too. Just think… delicious fluffy pancakes with Hood River fruit and homemade whip cream. There's a secret cherry picking party at 4pm today. Mitchell from Dirty Fingers bike repair told me about it, but I can't tell you. mrrrrrrhahahahahaha....
I'm so off track right now...
Wind... As a low pressure system shifts from Vancouver Island to eastern B.C. this afternoon (thanks, Canadians), winds pick up in the Gorge. Watch Stevenson, the Event Site, Doug's, Avery and possibly, maybe, if we're lucky, Maryhill for 23-26 late this afternoon. These system driven Gorge winds tend to be gusty...
Tomorrow's setup is weird. High pressure to the east and a strong marine push. (supposed to be high pressure to the west). So, I'm going to do a little guessing. I'll say light morning, but then picking up to 22-25 as the desert high pressure drifts farther east, setting up gradients.
Tuesday's looking awesome. High pressure to the west, a deep marine layer in the morning, and heat in the desert makes for a perfect setup. Dawn patrol somewhere in the 21-23 range and 28-32 from Doug's eastward late.
There's not much else to tell you guys today.
Can someone develop a faster method for the caffeine to reach my brain. My stomach is so inefficient.
Thanks.
Have a great day!
