TGIF

Good morning gorge recreation addicts and congratulations to the winners of the Gorge Freestyle Frenzy windsurfing contest. The Winners are: Tyson Poor in the Super Frenzy, Jake Miller in the men’s contest.  Ingrid Larouche in the women’s event. Peter Najim (nay-jim) in the master’s division, and Jordan Reid in the kids’ division.

It’s a good thing the contest happened yesterday, because we’re not going to see west winds again until Sunday. Today, High pressure blankets the Gorge, smothers westerlies. and sends temperatures soaring in Portland. We’ll see east winds in the 20-25 range from Rooster Rock to Home Valley. As always with easterlies, morning hours are the ticket. Winds falter and fade in the afternoon.

Tomorrow delivers light easterlies once again, but Sunday through Tuesday are looking nice and windy - that’s west winds - for all you poleboarders and tangleboarders.

So... make your decision if you're a weekender. Is one day worth the drive?

Have a good day today.
