You don't need me. Go sailing.

No, you don't really need me. It's already nuking and it's going to continue all day. I'm going sailing.

Here's the radio forecast. I gotta go. Have a great day!

Good morning sporty Gorge people! It’s freestyle Frenzy day today! Show your support by lounging on the Hatchery rocks and cheering on the hard-charging competitors. Competition is slated to start at 9am. With this much wind, the watching will be at least as good as the sailing.

Not a voyeur? Sail anywhere between Swell and Arlington today. By afternoon, it’ll be blasting everywhere. With a blowing dust warning posted in the desert, Roosevelt is my call for 30+. High pressure close to the coast (winds rotate clockwise around a high) may turn Maryhill northerly, but it’s worth checking if you want to save on gas. Kiters… try Stevenson for less wind. Even the Lyle sandbar blasts today.

Windsurfing and kiting is fun, but save a little energy for a windsurfer/kiter forum at the Port building next to the bridge at 7:30 tonight. Get together for an hour with CGWA to discuss how we resolve the negative windsurfer-kiter vibes and create a respectful and fun environment for windsports in the Gorge. Can’t make it? Email your thoughts to cgwa@gorge.net.
