look. I remembered. It's Monday.

Hi Everyone!

We had a great weekend of fun here in the Gorge. Windsurfers, kiteboarders, bikers and gardeners all had good play conditions at some point over the last couple of days. The fun continues this week with more sun, more wind and even some falling stars on Friday, although not even the astronomers can guess how many dust motes will blast through the atmosphere this week.

We’ll start off today with only a few marine clouds and mid-teens wind, which doesn’t bode well for high-wind windsurfing today. Now that it's ten o'clock (this getting up at 5 stuff is really throwing off my sleep patterns) there are high clouds all over the sky. That's just weird given high pressure off the coast and not-southerly upper flow. Well... anyway... Thermal wondertwin powers activate after a midday lull, overcoming underwhelming morning breezes. Kiters will have good 17-21 conditions at the invisible sandbar this afternoon, and windsurfers with 5.0s will be having a great time at Rowena and Doug’s after work. Five-oh-no-go is a thing of the past, you know…

Tomorrow brings the distinct possibility of light wind dawn patrol in the central Gorge. Solid marine clouds deposited by an overnight mini-front lend a hand during the day, keeping Portland highs down and letting the desert get a jump start on heating. Winds spike in the afternoon, once again, making Doug’s and Rowena the hot spots with peak averages between 22 and 26.

Windsurfers, keep in mind that next weekend is Windfest. Prepare yourself for a plethora of demo boards and sails, free clinics, and - this is my favorite - free snacks from your favorite local windsurf shops. We're going to attempt to barbeque cookies at the Exocet/Hot Sails/2nd Wind booth. Come visit us. We're cool. Or at least we're kinda cool. Or sorta cool.

I have to bake those cookies today.

Have a nice day.
