Good morning everyone!
Ok... this is for you Dads out there. You are hereby relieved of all responsibility today. I give you permission to bail on all house projects and honey-do's (and that includes my friends Diedrick, Bob R, Ben Stenn, Shane and others). Go enjoy the epic conditions we've been having! It's not often that a truly fantastic year happens in the Gorge, so you have to enjoy some of it!
Dawn patrol was the call at 5am with mid twenties at the Hatch. A solid marine push this morning combined with a big thermal gradient later will drive 25-29 in the corridor for much of the day . If you’re tired of fresh water, the coast is happening too, with 25 knot winds and a 4 foot swell. But then again, the swell is bigger on the river right now. Don’t go anywhere!
Minimal clouds Monday morning give us a slow start, but a thermal trough moves east and a front approaches late. Prefrontal winds can be tricky, but for now I’ll say we’ll see strong winds late.
I’m crossing my fingers for Tuesday, and you should too. An expected marine push combined with that frontal passage should make for strong winds in the eastern Gorge.
Mountain bikers… you’re riding to cloud nine on perfect trails. Road bikers and golfers… your best bet is Monday morning. Everyone… Rasmussen Farms is having a strawberry celebration this weekend. Their berries rock. Check them out!
Everyone have an awesome day on the water today. I'm going back to bed for a couple hours. It's way way way too cold for dawn patrol for me!!!
