5.29 Forecast

Good morning sailors!

We're starting off the day with a hefty .14 gradient and the promise of another windy afternoon on the river. With the strong gradient in place and a solid cloud deck overhead, I can't promise consistent conditions. I can promise that all sites east of Mosier will hit 25-29 this afternoon. I suppose I shouldn't make promises for Mother Nature... I suspect all sailing sites east of Mosier will hit 25-29 this afternoon. If you plan to sail the Maryhill stretch of the Columbia, please be careful. The current is running at full force, making any breakdown a sure ride downriver. I would go so far as to say that Maryhill is "experts only" right now. Besides, given the swell at Arlington, you're far better off trying to find a carpool partner and doing the long drive.

Tomorrow's best wind looks to be early, in the 15-18 range, with a slow fade in afternoon.

Saturday, from this long view, looks light.

Coastal conditions look windy tomorrow and Saturday, with the entire coast having winds in the sailable range. Unfortunately, the swell is only running at 3-4 feet, making for unexciting windsurfing.

Have a great day!
