Bill Clinton in HR Forecast

Good morning sailors!

No matter what you consider your political affiliation, consider stopping by the Hood River Library lawn at seven this evening to catch a speech by former president Bill Clinton. Hilary's campaign made a last minute decision to send her husband stumping in our little town. Lucky for us! Even if you despise the Clintons, you'll enjoy Bill's performance. Trust me on this one.

(this information comes from an insider at K105.5 radio in the Gorge, so I consider it reliable enough to print, even though it's very last minute)

And besides, you have to go. I have to work and can't make it.

Now, I know many of you are more interested in upcoming wind than upcoming political speeches. You'll be pleased with this forecast as well. The heat low starts sliding east of the Cascades today, drawing a shallow marine layer in its wake. Starting around noon, we'll see a slow build of west wind in the Gorge. By mid-afternoon, kiters and slalom racers will have the 17-21 they need to get on the water. If the timing is perfect, we'll get a 23-27 push late at Doug's, and maybe even in the corridor.

Winds increase overnight, setting up dawn patrol potential tomorrow. Look for 22-25 for most of the day. As Portland heats up, we'll see a pronounced midday lull, followed by an evening pickup at Rowena.

Monday looks stronger, as the marine layer strengthens. Tuesday just might be a nuker, as rain spreads inland, but it's too far out to make a solid call.

Have a great day on the water!

Temira
