Hello Sailors!
Just as I was beginning to worry about the warm, windless weather, Mother Nature decided to change her plan for the week.
The high pressure that produced yesterday's beautiful weather will dissipate today, allowing an afternoon marine push. With warm temperatures in the desert, marine air will create a temperature differential, and that will bring wind. Look for 22-25 this afternoon in the Corridor and out to Doug's. If, by some lucky chance, the marine push is strong enough to make wind in the desert, The Wall will be blowing from the right direction.
Tomorrow brings more wind, stronger wind, as a front aids thermals. Look for 25-28 east of the cloud line.
At this point, and remember, this is a long ways out, Wednesday looks like the day for windsurfers to clear their schedule. Models are showing nuclear winds in the desert. I'm taking a wait and see attitude at this point, but I'm also clearing my schedule. Sailboat races take a back seat to nuclear Arlington.
With gas at $4 a gallon, I'm offering up my website as a place to find carpool partners. =) You can post comments here to find a driving mate (or maybe a new lover?). May I suggest the China Gorge parking lot as a rendezvous spot?
Also, I keep forgetting to mention the iWindsurf/iKitesurf discount. $20 off the regular price if you sign up at iwindsurf.com/temira. I had to beg for the discount for you guys, so please take advantage of it (and your friends as well, but they have to join the list).
I think that's it for now. I haven't had my coffee, so I wouldn't trust anything I said above.
Have a great day!
Temira
