2/12/08 Maui Forecast

Good morning sailors!

I finally took your suggestion and escaped the cold for a few weeks. Morocco is still on the list, and your kind donations are still waiting patiently to be spent on that ticket, but for now, I'm on Maui.

Yesterday was crazy windy - overpowered 4.5 with overhead waves at Kanaha. Today, so far, is calm and sunny. I'm not too concerned about the lack of wind. After all, I'm wandering around in a bikini and gazing upon blue skies. This is a little disorienting after spending much of the last week in blizzards on Mt. Hood, but I'm getting used to it.

Looks like you guys are about to get the yearly February warm and sunny spell. Starting Friday, high pressure builds over the Pacific, sending warm and dry air over Oregon and Washington. There's a good chance you'll get west winds along with the sun... a little early to make the call at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised. Remember, though, that the Columbia temperature is right around 40 degrees, making for a chilly early spring session.

A better call next week might be the coast. With high pressure building, coastal sites should see north winds (Laura?)...

Okay... I'm working on Maui time today, and it's time to do a Maui activity before peak tanning hours!

Have a great day!

Temira
