Jacoby shreds 7th - 1/28 forecast

Good morning sailors!

I would imagine that just about everyone is at the mountain today. After all, there's plenty of new snow under patchwork skies. I, for one, prefer the danger of sledding 7th street to the relative safety of Mt. Hood Meadows.

But the real point of this is to talk about wind, right? Yes.

We've got wind headed our way. Wind accompanied by snow, that is. With strong, cold frontal systems headed towards the Gorge, we'll see sailable westerlies on both Tuesday and Wednesday. I can't fathom why any sane person would go out in these conditions - take that as a comment on my sanity, if you like - but I'm letting you know about the upcoming wind anyway.

Whether you head to the mountain, head to the beach (or, what passes for a beach in the Gorge), or head to 7th Street, have fun!

In the meantime, enjoy this shot of Mike Jacoby, Olympic snowboarder, shredding 7th Street in Hood River.
