Saturday 12/29 Forecast

Good morning sailors!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday season. For those of you who aren't into the holidays, I give this advice: It's almost over!

We're going to see a lot of wind in the next few days. As a strong front nears the Gorge on Saturday night, westerlies increase under cloudy skies. I can't imagine the windsurfing will be much fun the next two days, with gusty westerly conditions and cold, pouring rain, but whitecaps will brighten the gloomy gorge. Maybe Arlington....

Better fun will be had at windy Mt. Hood, where two to three feet of new snow will fall over the next 48 hours.

New Year's Day will bring sunny conditions on the mountain and nuclear conditions for the western Gorge. NOAA is calling for 50+ at Rooster and Stevenson on Tuesday. Jim, Laura, and Dave are prohibited from partying too hard on NYE, because I'll need sailing buddies around noon. Sounds like a sail testing day to me... anyone who wants to try some 2.8-3.5's is welcome to come along!

Have a great day!

Temira
