Good morning sailors!
Forecasting weather creates a small dilemma. When I suspect snow is coming, I expect snow in the morning when I wake. Expectation removes the fun from snowfall. I didn't check the weather yesterday and didn't note the east winds and frost on my car last night, so was pleasantly surprised by the falling flakes when I crawled out of bed at ten (lazy, eh?).
We'll see mixed snow and rain in the lower elevations of the Gorge until the winds switch from east to west later in the day. Snow levels rise tomorrow, most likely bringing rain to ski areas during the day. Overnight, though, snow levels plummet and new snow accumulates on the mountains, possibly even in the Gorge... depends on what happens with the east winds (if you're like me, you're crossing your fingers for east winds and Gorge snows on Monday).
The real purpose of this email, however, is to let you know of a super-fun holiday party! Sunday night, Cebu Lounge at the Hood River Inn. Come celebrate the holidays Area 54 style (that's not Area 51... different thing). There will be dancing, drinking, and no Christmas music! Well... I can't guarantee that one...
AND... Next month at the Columbia Center for the Arts, we have a big-screen showing of one of the best movies of all time: Run Lola Run!!!! You are going. This month, next Wednesday, we have Joyeaux Noel. It's a holiday movie, but Uncle Scrooge-Joe McCullough says you'll love it. I'll be there, so you should too!
Enjoy the falling snow!!!
