Good morning sailors!
It's another beautiful day of east wind sailing here in the Gorge. Laura and I (and one other unidentified sailor - please stand up and be honored) had a great solo sail-testing session at Stevenson yesterday. We hung on to 3.3 and 3.5 under sunny skies. Today looks like it will end up windier, but cloud cover will make the air feel colder (it's only 31 there now, compared to 35 yesterday). Believe it or not, the water is plenty warm still... I'd say upper 40's, at least.
30+ should hold for the entire day. Winds will drop overnight as a weak front approaches. NOAA says gradients will turn onshore, but I'll say they'll stay light offshore in the Gorge (partly because I'm hoping for snow in town) through tomorrow.
Wednesday evening will see gradients turn onshore. Whether gradients will be strong enough for westerly sailing remains to be seen.
It's time to go to work now... I hope all of you have a great 8th day of Hanukah!
