Good morning sailors!
It's snowing. Again. Seems like I say that every day.
We're starting the weekend with kite-strength easterlies and light snow in Stevenson. NOAA is hedging their bets about snowfall in the Gorge today, but I'll post my own winter storm warning. Easterlies will keep temperatures cool in the Gorge, leading to significant snowfall once more moisture infiltrates Oregon airspace. Be prepared for sledding late tonight and tomorrow morning.
As the warm front muscles its way into Oregon tomorrow, gradients will turn onshore, temperatures will rise, and rain will fall. Flooding potential exists. Strong southerlies blast the coast, and Arlington/Threemile/Boardman stands watching for westerlies (depends on how much west there is in the desert southerlies).
Strong winds continue on the coast through Tuesday, peaking on Monday with gusts to 100mph. Even Tom Hammerton, speedsailor extraordinaire, will need a 2.8. Is it possible to rig when it's blowing that hard?
Enjoy the snow today!
Temira
