Good morning sailors,
Our cold, rainy, sleety front has been delayed, giving the crazies (myself included) one more chance to sail east winds before the wet weather hits. It looks like Rooster will get the best wind again today, making for a long drive to sail in 34 degree air. But hey, windsurfing is always worth it, right? Um... Yeah. For now, the east gradient is .23, promising 30+ averages at Rooster and maybe even Stevenson in a couple of hours.. Anyway, if you want to sail, go in the morning. The approaching front will eventually (maybe not 'til nightfall) kill the east winds.
If you head to Rooster or Portland today, head for home as soon as the rain starts. With temperatures hovering around freezing in the Gorge, we could be looking at a real driving mess tonight.
Tomorrow looks like cold, frontally driven, wet west winds. Wednesday brings more of the same. The MM5 is predicting strong winds in the desert, but I'll have to see it to believe it. If you head east tomorrow, dress warmly, and remember that river flow is low now, making for not-so-great swell.
I just reread that. It's a little depressing. I think the inversion is getting to me already!
Have an awesome day. I'm not working, so I'm going to walk the stairs for exercise. Join me?
