Good morning sailors!
It doesn't look like we're getting the forecast super-nuker today; temperatures in the desert just didn't cool off enough last night. Even so, we're looking at 30+ at Stevenson today (I was hoping for 40+), plenty of wind for a pre-feasting session. Please join Laura and I at Bob's Beach (or maybe the boat ramp) for some thanks-giving to the wind gods.
Winds will pick up a bit today, as a ridge of high pressure shifts east. Combined with the dense, cold air pool (not swimming pool) in the desert, this will increase barometer readings in the desert and increase gradients across the Gorge. Given this, best winds will be mid-day today and tomorrow morning.
As a front approaches Saturday, east gradients will weaken, possibly turning onshore.
I'm not quite awake... got up too early to go to Abruzzo to make Thanksgiving desserts.
I hope all of you have a fantastic Thanksgiving with friends or family.
