Good Morning Sailors!
Over the last week, I've had a few people asking me to remove them from the list for the winter and add them back in the spring. As my organizational skills aren't up to that task, I'm asking you guys to check the wind forecast at my website instead. =)
So, from tomorrow on, the (almost) daily forecast (whether it be for windsurfing, kiting, mountain biking, or sledding on 7th street), will be found only at http://www.temirawagonfeld.com/windblog.
I'm a little sad; it's fun emailing all of you every day. I can continue with this fantasy that next time it's windy, all of you will show up to sail (instead of just Laura, Dayna, Dave and Johnny).
So, on to the forecast...
A cold front exiting the Gorge overnight left us with westerly gradients (.07 now) and little (well, maybe big) fluffy clouds (any chance to reference that fantastic tune is welcome, though). If you want to play in the river, go soon, unless you're waiting to go waterskiing. High pressure will build over the state as the day goes on and overnight. By tomorrow morning, we'll see strong east winds at Stevenson and Rooster. We're not looking at a nuker (we have to wait for C-O-L-D in the desert for that), but we're looking at a fun time on the water tomorrow. Coastal sites see NE winds, making for struggles getting out, but perfect side-offshore conditions on the outside. Wish I could go!
Thursday brings another cold front/warm front combo meal to Oregon. We'll see short-lived west winds at some point during the day. In addition, a strengthening storm off the coast brings first east, then south winds to coastal waters. GPS speed sailing addicts can start planning their next trip to Astoria.
Alright. You kids stay out of trouble today. I'm working all day long, so I shouldn't be able to cause too much trouble... then again... on second thought...
Have a great day!
Temira
