Good morning sailors!
Fickle Mother Nature just didn't cooperate with models and forecasts yesterday, but she looks up for some fun today. Actually, what happened yesterday was an inversion in the Gorge. West wind killer. Sixty-five degrees in Portland yesterday, sixty-five in Pendleton, and forty-five here. Inversion bad.
Anyway, on to today. Despite the possibility of 1.5 inches of rain, it's going to rip here in the Gorge. All models (and a .05 gradient to start the day) point to windsurfing conditions. An approaching warm front blasts across the Gorge, setting up (relatively) warm air ahead of an approaching cold front. Cold air is drawn to warm air like me to a medium-rare steak (I'm not sure if that's an appropriate simile, or even good grammar), so it's going to blow. Watch for 30+ from the Central Gorge on out (oh do I wish I could go to Arlington today!)
Tomorrow sounds cold, but possibly windy.
Sunday looks sunny (assuming we don't get caught in the fog, what with all this wet soil), but not wndy. That's good, because the mountain bike trails need a couple of days to dry out after yesterday's drenching.
Alrighty. If I don't go clean this house, I'm not going to get any windsurfing in before I head to the restaurant.
Have a great day, everyone!
Temira
