Good Morning Sailors!
I have a disturbing feeling about this weather; I believe winter is here, a month early, to stay. With a parade of upper level lows lining up off the coast, and no end in sight, we're locked into a wet, gray, windless pattern. Tomorrow's expected relief was crushed by the power of this series of lurking upper level lows.
Low pressure off the coast signals two things: light gradients in the Gorge and southerly flow to the east of the low (winds circle low pressure counterclockwise, and circle high pressure clockwise).
We'll be biking and hiking for the next couple of days here. Desperate windsurfers can find solace in strong southerly winds on the North Coast on Saturday and the possibility of sailable southerlies in Seattle waters on Saturday as well.
Since it's officially the off-season, I'm taking suggestions for off-season workout plans. Best submitted plan gets a dozen cookies. There must be at least five plans submitted, by five different people, for the contest to take place. Contest results will be announced Saturday morning (might be late, because I'm sleeping in). Official rules posted at temirawagonfeld.com. Contest not valid where such contests are illegal or prohibited by law (isn't that the same thing?)
Have a great day today!
Temira
