Monday Forecast

Good Morning Sailors!

I've finally recovered from the PVD show, just in time for Ulrich Schnauss tomorrow night. That's a mellow show; the real fun happens on October 19th at the Ohm, where Sandra Collins will be throwing down trance tracks 'til two!

That's your electronica forecast for the next few weeks. For more information, check out nwtekno.org.

Seeing as how there are only three or four of you on this list who care about electronica, I'll move on to the wind forecast.

Portland, as is usual for this time of year, is wet this morning. Suffering from drizzleitis and the beginnings of SAD, Portlanders are heading to their psychiatrists in droves to pick up their Prozac pick-me-up. We, on the other hand, can hit the water this afternoon for a bit of wind. The lurking low pressure trough that's been sending us this lovely weather will shift east today, sending gradients in the eastern Gorge into the sailable range. Look for 23-27 this afternoon, as the showers clear. Just watch the skies for moving clouds. That's when it's time to check iWindsurf or the free sensor network at Windonthewater.com.

Tomorrow brings a brief rain respite and more chilly west winds. An approaching afternoon airmass appeals to the weather gods, sending gradients climbing. Depending on where the cloudline ends up, we're looking at 24-28 in the early-to-mid afternoon (just before another round of wet air slams into the Cascades, bringing more rain). Don't expect miracles - gusty winds are the norm this time of year. But maybe, just maybe all this rain will up river flow, giving us some late season swells.

Wednesday looks cool and showery, with continued west winds of some sort in the afternoon. With high temps around 60, it's going to be chilly.

Have a great day today!
