We're off to an excellent start in the Gorge today. Gradients start the day at .13, .05, and .21. Think that sounds good? Listen to this: gradients are only going to increase as the day goes on! (and yes, I know that they are supposedly decreasing now - just wait) Marine clouds man the lowland trenches as frontal clouds cover the high ground over Portland. Those city kids are staying grey today. As the front, and its accompanying clouds and cold air, approaches, gradients tighten. You may have to head east of the corridor to find the best winds: just watch where the marine clouds stop (the Hatch is your call for the a.m.) Don't blow your strength this morning: it's a Wall day this afternoon. With upper level flow more westerly than it's been in a long time, every site other than Avery should be awesome. Winds hit the 24-28 range, with Arlington and the Wall cruising the 30mph line. Can someone bring me peaches? Mmmmmmmmm.
Tomorrow looks good as well, although a bit lighter. The gradient-driving front passes overnight/early morning, leaving massive marine madness behind. Clouds should dominate HR skies, sending knowledgeable windsurfers east to Doug's/Rowena for 24-28. The Wall just might be good again. Ditto on the windspeed there.
Watch for dawn patrol on Monday, as clouds back off a bit overnight. Westerlies hang in the game, with 21-23 a conservative call.
Pistol went 3.7 again yesterday, and we're sitting under sunny skies and dire NOAA predictions again today. Should be fun!
